As wealthy socialites bounce between the vice-filled shadows of downtown New York City and parties in West Egg, they learn Otto, Martin’s landlord and enigmatic protector, may have been right about the hardships of taking entrepreneurial risks. Otto, for better or for worse, turns out to be a much different man than the duo had once believed…
The Boy of Ashes is Luke Huard’s debut novel, published in January 2025. It is a work set in 1920s New York City, inspired by the world of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. The book is available online wherever books are sold.

Luke Huard is a Social Studies teacher and antique hunter based in New England. His love of history, both in the classroom and at the flea market, inspired his debut work. He is also the creator of free Social Studies lesson plans hosted on his website.
